Answer #5:
There is a Scripture in Revelation that says in part, "...A measure of wheat for a denarius and three measures of barley for a denarius. And see that thou hurt not the oil and the wine...." These were instructions given to one of the Horsemen of the Apocalypse as he rode forth to pour out his wrath upon the world of the Tribulation period. To understand this, one has to know a few things....First, a denarius was the equivalent to an average working man's daily wage. The amounts of grain listed beforehand tell of the way such a meager amount of money would have to be spent on food in order to survive. Oil and wine are representative of luxury items that are left alone by this scourge in order that poorer people would be "tempted" by them and that the economically stable could be more readily fooled into thinking everything is ok in the world around them. Granted, we're not in the Tribulation period yet, but when you look at the cost of living increase where food is concerned for example, it's not hard to see how close we are to these price increases being one of the "keys" in knowing when Christ will return. Think about what the average person earns in 1 day and what they spend on groceries alone in 1 week. I'd be willing to bet that within reason, that the "average Joe" is spending a day or two worth of pay just on food!Answer #6:
